About Organization

Gramin Samaj Vikas Kendra is presently working in rural and urban locations, Meerut, Muzaffarnagar ,Bijnor and Baghpat of Uttar Pradesh, with poor marginalized communities with a focus on women, dalits, small & marginal farmers. Women empowerment is being addressed by SHGs promotion, income generation activities, building their capacity for ensuring their participation in panchayat, entitlement realization. Environment, education, skill development, capacity building training, sanitation & hygiene and awareness is created among community members in communities and among children in schools. By use of technical knowledge of the organization and mobilizing community contribution for skill training, empowering adolescent girls and women. Training has been provided to small & marginalized farmers on organic farming and low-cost, sustainable agricultural practices. By using the strength and assertion skills of assumptions, the eligible community members have benefited from social security schemes and other development programs like SGSY. The organization is providing training to adolescent girls/youth groups. The organization is also contributing to accessibility of health services through the Health investigation center. Inputs have been provided to community members, leaders of community-based organizations, which has resulted in the adoption of organic farming. Impact assessment Study of IEC Material on HIV/AIDS was conducted to see the effect of IEC material on HIV/AIDS.

For twenty-six years, Gramin Samaj Vikas Kendra has been working for empowerment of the poor and marginalized community conservation as well in different parts of Uttar Pradesh. Issues like sanitation, health education, etc. prevailing in the village and the pathetic condition of downtrodden females, children, young people and scheduled cast led to the emergence of Gramin Samaj Vikas Kendra. Lack of government assistance, personal experience and exposure to such situations led to the thought of coming up with an organization which could assist and help to improve the living conditions of the rural people.
